Seminar (How to decide a project problem) On 27-Apr-2023

The Research and development cell of KL Mehta Dayanand college for women Faridabad organised a one day seminar on the topic, ‘How to decide a project problem’. The resource person for the seminar was Dr Pradeep K. Varshney, Dean of Research and Science at Manav Rachna University, Faridabad. The seminar was held exclusively for the students of all PG programs running in the college. The session started with a lamp lightening ceremony and Gayatri mantra recitation followed by a highly influential lecture by Dr Pradeep Varshney Sir who talked about the very basics of deciding a project problem’ and what all points should be kept in mind while going for a  project or research as the main parameter that decides the rest of the parameters of the project is what and how the problem should be worked upon. The session was interesting and  interactive throughout as Sir kept asking questions and solving students’ queries in between the session only. The lecture was quite informative and provided encouragement to all the students present. Everyone enjoyed and appreciated the seminar. The teacher in charge of R and D Cell, Dr. Beena Sethi Mam also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Pradeep K. Varshney Sir for his valuable session. She also presented a sapling to Sir as a token of appreciation. This was followed by a formal vote of thanks to him. Around 100 students attended the seminar.

4-Days Workshop on ‘Creative Industry‘ From 11 April to 15 April 2023

Under the guidance of honourable Principal Dr.Manju Dua and respected Dr. Neha Jain Head of Department of Computer Science, organized a 4-Day Workshop on ‘Creative Industry ‘ by Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) from 11th April to 15th April. The objective behind scheduling the workshop is to introduce different fields like video editing, graphic designing and animations to the students.


This Workshop was organised by Ms.Poonam(convener), Ms.Tanshi (Industry update) and Mr.Ankit (Technical Head). The workshop was a very good combination of technical and practical knowledge .50 students was participating and they were encouraged by providing certificates and prizes at the end of the workshop.The students prepared the departmental magazine cover after learning designing and animations. Under the guidance of Ms.Poonam (DoCS) Drishti Ahuja,Megha sharma, Ronak gupta,Anshul,Ritu,Fatma, Ridhima,Rachna and Nishi
(BCA 1st & 2nd year Students)Organised the whole event.

Workshop on Makeup by Lakme Academy On 27-Apr-23

Kala Sangam Club of Department of Home Science and Saundarya Beauty Training Centre organized a workshop on Makeup by Lakme Academy powered by Aptech on 27/04/23.
The workshop was based on makeup skills.The makeup artist from the Lakme Academy gave a complete demonstration on Party Makeup .
Nearly 50 students participated in the workshop with great enthusiasm and students also asked questions during the makeup demonstration.
Our honourable Principal, Dr.Manju Dua encouraged the students to be the part of skill development courses so that they become self reliant. Ms. Archna Dua ,Head of the Department also motivated students to participate in such workshops and get the most benefit out of such workshops . Senior faculty members Dr. Sheel Singh , Dr.Meenu Dua,Ms.Usha Pant ,&Dr. Sangeeta were also present. Workshop was organised by Ms.Benu Mehta Ms.Priyanka Pawar and Ms.Jyoti .

One Day Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights

Department of biosciences has organised one day workshop on IPR on 10th April 2023. The resource person of the event was Mr Rahul Bagga Director of Aumirah & affiliates . The workshop focused on various components and policies of IPR such as patents,trademark ,Industrial design copyright,trade secret which motivated the students to file there innovative ideas and gain the maximum benefit from their creativity and ingenuity. The workshop was attended by approximately 150 students. Our esteemed Principle Dr. Manju Dua appreciated the students for attending the workshop and congratulated Dr. Sheel Singh,Head of department and Dr. Shveta Arya for organising such an informative workshop.

3 Days Fevicryl workshop (6feb,2023 to 8 Feb 2023)

Department of Home Science organised Fevicryl Crafts exhibition-cum-competition on 21 Feb,2023. Display of various crafts articles learnt during the 3 day Fevicryl workshop (6feb,2023 to 8 Feb 2023) was held in the Clothing and Textiles laboratory of the department. Exhibition-cum-competition of bottle decoration, Stole Painting and Lippan Art were held. Students of various streams participated enthusiastically in the competitions. Ms. Meeta Rampal and Ms. Rachna Baghel were the judges of the competitions. Ms.Rachna Baghel is alumini of our college who is graduated in 2017 and currently working as Faculty in fine arts ,at shiv college for Education, Tigaon.Dr.Manju Dua (officiating principal) applauded the overwhelming response of the students and stressed upon the importance of learning new skills and crafts. Ms. Archna Dua, Head of the Department, Home Science told about the importance of having entrepreneurial skills in the students for making them self reliant. Prizes were given to the winners and certificate of participation were distributed to all the students who successfully completed the 3 day workshop.Mrs. Usha Pant and the other faculty members participated enthusiastically in the program.

5-DAYS WORKSHOP on “HOW TO WRITE A RESEARCH PAPER” From 13-17 February 2023

The Department of Chemistry (PG), K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad had organised a 5 day workshop from 13-17 February 2023 on, ‘How to write a research paper’. The workshop aimed at developing an aptitude for research and writing research papers among the students. It focussed on providing the students a step-by-step guidance on writing a research paper. Dr. Soumita Talukdar was the resource person from G D Goenka University, Gurugram for the first day. She explained the meaning of research in a very clear manner. She also explained the students regarding forming the title and the abstract of the research paper and the meanings of various terms used while writing a research paper. The resource person for the second day was Dr. Krishna Dutt Chauhan from Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, BCAS, University of Delhi. He very nicely explained the qualitative and quantitative analysis while writing a research paper. He also explained the students regarding the concept of patents and impact factors of various journals. The two resource persons for the third day, Dr. Annu Kalra and Dr. Purnima Verma, both are from the Department of Chemistry (PG), K. L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women Faridabad. Dr Annu Kalra explained about the introduction part of the research paper writing and how literature review is done for writing down the introduction. She also told what and which sources to refer to for preparing the introduction. The students were told about mistakes to be avoided while writing the introduction for a research paper. This was followed by a 2nd presentation from the other resource person, Dr Purnima Verma. She clearly explained to the students the concept of journals and how research papers are processed for publication. She also showed the students examples of various journals in the field of Commerce, Arts, Mathematics, Physics and many other subjects. The concept of indexing, Scopus, UGC Care journals was well explained by Dr Purnima Verma. The resource person for day 4th was Dr. Pooja Sawhney from Prime Labs, Faridabad. She talked about the results and discussion part of research paper writing and how the results are framed. She also explained what critical points should be kept in mind while writing the discussion part as it is the heart of the paper. Taking examples from various fields like political science, chemistry, biotechnology and others, she clearly described the importance of clear and precisely written results and discussion in a research paper. Dr Nadeem Luqman from Amity University, Gurugram was the resource person for the last and fifth day of the workshop. He very nicely and clearly explained the various techniques used in data analysis and also what types of parameters should be employed for a certain type of data analysis while preparing for a research paper. All the registered students for the workshop received certificates from the organizers along with group photographs with the resource person and all the dignitaries present.
More than 150 students were registered in the workshop. Our esteemed Principal, Dr Manju Dua Mam congratulated everyone for the success of the workshop and also motivated the students to go for writing research papers and also explained to them the importance of writing a research paper and how it will help them in their future. Dr. Meenu Dua Mam, Head, Department of Chemistry also appreciated and encouraged the organizing team for their wonderful efforts in making this workshop a success. Feedback was obtained from all the registered students.

” Tally with G.S.T” was organised by the Department of Commerce and Management on 21st October 2023

An extension lecture on the topic ” Tally with G.S.T” was organised by the Department of Commerce and Management on 21st October 2023 at 10:30 Am. The Resource Person for the session was Mr.Kishen Manocha Account Consultant Working with 9 Pvt Ltd Co., 1 public ltd company, 8 proprietorship, 1partnership The lecture dealt with the concept of project based learning and it’s benefits to the students. Principal ma’am Dr. Manju Dua also explained students about thinking new ideas and upskill themselves for better employability. The session was very interesting as the speaker interacted with the students . The students were enthusiastic to participate. Around 150 students attended the Session.

IQAC of K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad organized “Meraki 2023 International Young Researchers’ Conclave” On 17-Oct-23

IQAC of K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad organized “Meraki 2023 Young Researchers’ Conclave” – International Research Paper Presentation for UG and PG students on 17th October, 2023. The motive of this Research Conclave was to provide an International platform to the young researchers’ of various disciplines, where they could share their views and research outcomes.

Shri Anand Mehta sir, President (MDES) inaugrated the event with lamp lighting and addressed the students and highlighted the pivotal role of research in education.
The event commenced with Saraswati Vandana by the students.
The judges of the event were Ms. Usha Dahiya (Assistant Professor, GCG, Ballabhgarh, Dr. Arpit Sand (Associate Professor, Manav Rachna University, Faridabad), Dr. Rekha Goyal (Associate Professor, K. L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad), Dr. Sheel Singh (Associate Professor, K.L. Mehta Dayanand College foe Women, Faridabad).

16 research papers were presented by 24 participants. The event was organized in hybrid mode. The participants raised the bar of the competition with their research work.
The first position was secured by Ritika Sharma and Monika Sharma (Manav Rachna University Faridabad), second position was secured by Diksha (K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad) and Komal Chaudhary (Kirorimal College, Delhi University, New Delhi), third position was secured by Abhishek Jha and Harishankar (DAV Centenary College, Faridabad). Certificates and momentos were presented to the winners and participation certificates were presented to all the participants.

Dr. Archana Bhatia (Associate Professor, DAV Centenary College, Faridabad) acted as the Resource Person of Valedictory Session. She addressed the students delivering them valuable insights on research and motivated them for research paper writing.

Ms. Shobha Chawla and Ms. Kunika Arora (convener of the event), Dr. Madhu Rathi, Dr. Shipra Rani Jha, Mrs. Gurpreet, Dr. Purnima Verma (co-convener) coordinated the event.
Student Coordinators Ms. Sakshi Jha, Ms. Kritika, Ms. Pooja Kapoor, Ms. Sangeeta, Ms. Anushka Bansal, Ms. Nisha, Ms. Shivani, Ms. Deepika, Ms. Ridhima, Ms. Simran, Ms. Varsha and Ms. Kashish conducted the whole event meticulously.

Principal Dr. Manju Dua appreciated the participants for their exemplary performance in the event and presented the Vote of Thanks.
All the participants and guests gave their valuable feedback about the event on the feedback wall.
The program was concluded with National Anthem.

National Quiz Brainy Bowl – On 13 Oct 2023

“We encourage participants to focus on the journey of expanding their understanding and appreciating the process of discovering new information rather than just the end result of winning the competition” with this motto, The Department of Commerce and Management, K. L. Mehta Dayanand College has organized a National level Quiz Competition (Brainy bowl) on 13th, October 2023 under the guidance of our Principal Dr. Manju Dua as patron and Ms. Neeru Bhatia(H.O.D), Ms. Amita Dureja and Dr. Sudesh Kumari as Convenors.Co-Conveners of the event were Dr. Rajesh Kumari, Ms. Rekha Gulati & Ms. Komal Malhotra. The motive of this event was to develop interest in subject areas of Commerce and Management including competitive aspects. Quiz was based on basic knowledge of Commerce & Management, Abbreviations, Marketing i.e. Logo, Brands, Adds etc., well known personalities and current affairs related to Commerce and Management. Event started with lamp lighting. After that introduction of teams were given and rules for the quiz were announced.9 teams from various states participated in this competition. There were 5 rounds.
After 3rd round 4 teams eliminated. Competition continued with remaining teams.
Team F(Government College, Jind) secured 1st prize while team E( DAV College of Management, Faridabad) secured 2nd prize. 3rd position secured by team B (K.L.Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad).
Ms. Neeru Bhatia(H.O.D) congratulated the students and appreciated the faculty members for organizing such a knowledgeable event.

Cash prizes were given to winners and certificates were given to all the participants. The efforts of all members of Department made it a successful event. The program was ended with vote of thanks & National Anthem

One Day National Workshop on NEP on February 26, 2023

K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women organized One Day National Level Workshop on “Implementation of NEP 2020 in Higher Education Institution” organised by R&D Cell and NEP Committee on February 26, 2023 in the College. The workshop was inaugurated by Shri. Anand Mehta, President, MDES, Dr. K.K.Gupta, Principal, Aggarwal(PG) College, Ballabgarh, Haryana and Dr. Manju Dua, Principal, K.L Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad by lighting the lamp. It was followed by Saraswati Vandana by students of Music Department. Shri. Anand Mehta motivated the academicians to learn how to implement NEP.
Dr. K.K.Gupta was the Keynote Speaker on “Quality: An outcome of synergy between NAAC Accreditation Framework and Tenets of NEP 2020.”
He said, “A teacher gives intelligence and A Guru gives wisdom.”
“Intelligence leads to arguments and wisdom says what is right.”
“Spiritualism leads to holistic development. “
With the advent of NEP 2020, New Era of Education and with strong foundation on rich Indian (Art, Culture, Civilization, Sacraments, Heritage and History) core values and Global Standards is dawning in India. It has seeds of a total paradigm shift of education in this country.

The second Resource Person was Prof. Rishi Pal, Chairperson Deptt. of Psychology & Behavioral Sciences, Dean, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Palwal, Haryana. He gave enlightenment on the topic
” Role and implementation of NEP.”
He said ” Development is a spiral process.”
” Placement was not responsibility of gurukuls but skill giving was their responsibility.”
” Technological Advancements is required.”
” Skills can not be practised without innovation and creativity.”
” Creativity is an instrument of Invention.”
“NEP promotes the thought we should be creative teachers.”

In the evening session,
Dr. Chavi Bhargava Sharma, Senior Psychologist , Psychotherapist, Mental Health and Wellness Consultant was the Resource Person. Her topic was “NEP 2020- Scaffolding Strategies – Enhanced Learning for Students & Faculty”.
Dr.Chavi told how the 360 degree Student Development is possible through implementation of NEP. She gave examples from Psychology coorelating it to NEP to show the Teaching Learning Process.
The workshop was convened by Dr. Sheel Singh and Dr.Beena Sethi.
The anchoring was done by Dr. Shweta Arya and Dr.Nupur Goyal.
Many academicians (25) all over India joined through online mode and gave very positive feedback for the workshop. Workshop was really beneficial to learn all the key points of NEP and how to implement it. Dr.Manju Dua (Officiating Principal) have always been a support to have such an interesting and informative workshop. 85 academicians were part of the workshop and listened to the speakers enthusiastically in the College Auditorium. Dr. Beena Sethi concluded the workshop with vote of thanks.

7 Days Workshop On ‘Office Automation System’ from 9 Jan. 23 to 17 Jan 23.

A 7 – Day workshop was organised by Department of Computer Science for Administrative staff on “Office Automation System”. The workshop was from 9 Jan. 23 to 17 Jan 23.

The primary objective of this workshop was to equip our non- teaching staff with essential skills and knowledge to navigate and Excel in the evolving digital landscape within the administrative Domain.

The enthusiastic participation of the non – teaching staff fostered an environment of collaboration learning, allowing everyone to share experiences and learn from another.

In conclusion , the workshop fully achieved its goals by enhancing the digital proficiency of our non- teaching staff. The collaborative spirit and positive feedback indicates a strong foundation for future workshops aimed at furthering the professional development of our administrative staff. The workshop was well organised by Dr. Neha Jain ( Head, Department of Computer Science) Ms. Kritika Vaid and Ms. Vishakha Garg and participants thanked respected Principal Mam, Dr.Manju Dua for their valuable enriching experience in the workshop.
